Partnership Opportunities

MAKScientific is seeking a strategic partner to further develop and commercialize its proprietary compounds as medications that act by modulating the endocannabinoid system.

MAKScientific's cannabinoid CB1 receptor antagonists are being developed as medications for the treatment of fatty liver disorders and obesity or against nicotine addiction.  Its two lead compounds are in late preclinical studies, and have demonstrated safety and efficacy in obesity models.  The Company expects its CB1 antagonists to result in products that are more efficacious with fewer side effects than products now in development.

CB2 selective receptor agonists with excellent pharmacological profiles and no undesirable CNS effects are being developed as medications for the treatment of neuropathic pain associated with cancer chemotherapy.

Highly selective FAAH inhibitors with very favorable side effect profiles are being developed as medications for multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease.

The partner, who will complete the preclinical development and be responsible for the clinical and regulatory activities necessary to obtain marketing approval, will have access to MAKScientific's advanced preclinical candidates, its library of compounds for identifying back-ups as well as related data and patent rights.  Further, the partner will have access to the Company's expertise in synthesis, drug design, pharmacological testing and molecular modeling, all supported by the Company's proprietary knowledge of the human endocannabinoid system.
